First Few Weeks in Guatemala

It has been three weeks now since I’ve moved to Guatemala, and they have been busy. The first week I helped with a Parent Vision Trip where World Race participants served with their parents at a ministry in a small village north of Antigua. It was cool to talk with the parents and participants and hear about their experiences so far in their 11-month journey.

For the past couple weeks, I have been studying Spanish every day, getting administrative work completed, and planning for the next World Race squad’s arrival next month. I’ve also met with an awesome new ministry contact which serves local churches in several places in Guatemala and Honduras.

Next week I will be travelling to Guatemala City, Flores and Belmopan, Belize, meeting with ministry contacts and leading a week-long mission trip.

It is a lot! Through all of the planning, I’ve already seen Psalms 16:9 play out in my life, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” God has proven his providence time and time again, especially in the past few months.

Your prayer support is also much appreciated!

Prayer needs:

  • Guidance and wisdom in developing partnerships and planning mission team placements in Central America.
  • Safe travels as I go to Guatemala City, Flores and Belmopan, Belize to meet with ministry contacts and lead a week-long mission trip.
  • For the Belize mission team to have our relationship with the Lord deepened through the trip and that we would bless the ministry and community we serve.
  • Financial support– Part of my role is raising support for Adventures in Missions. After my current monthly support, I am currently only $3,212 ($535/month) away from reaching my goal for 2016. The deadline is September 30. If you feel led to support my work, you may do so by clicking the “Support Me!” link on the left of this blog, or you can mail a check to:
