As a regional director for Adventures in Missions, I get to work with over 80 ministry contacts throughout Central America. Every month, I will be highlighting a country I work with at Adventures in Missions. I will be sharing stories from the field, highlighting ministries we partner with and sharing ways in which you can pray with us. Please partner with me and Adventures in  Missions as we disciple through missions and serve ministries.

Would you like to partner with me and Adventures in Missions as we serve the people of Panama?

Any monthly partnership is a great help to reach this goal: $10 $15 $25 $50 $75 $100

This monthly gift helps us continue to send teams to our ministries in Panama and over 60 other countries and disciple over 1500 young adults every year.

ABOUT PANAMA

In the beginning of November, I was able to meet with hosts in Panama to  set up ministry for the World Race. Kristin, an Adventures in Missions long-term missionary from Nicaragua, and I travelled from Panama City to David District meeting with our amazing ministry contacts.

While in Panama City, Panama, Kristin and I met with missionaries, a YWAM Base and a local ministry to build relationships and prepare for the World Race squad in April. After all of the meetings, we were invited to walk  in an Independence Day Parade wearing traditional clothing.

MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT | CUP OF COLD WATER MINISTRIES

David and Lisa Carter have been advancing God’s Kingdom in Panama for over seven years.  Their current    location, El Valle, has a congregation of over fifty members which meet throughout the week to study God’s word and help each other spiritually and physically.  Here’s there story told by my coworker who found them for Adventures in Missions, Abigail:

“One day, by chance, Lisa ended up in a tourist shop in Valle de Anton and met a man named Nico. She started chatting with Nico, and he asked her if she knew any missionaries in town. Then he pulled out a card with a name on it that he had received from a man in the shop a week before. Lisa went red in the face when she saw the card. SHE was the name written on the card. Nico had many questions about the bible, Jesus, and what it is to be a Christian. The missionary told Nico to find Lisa Carter and talk with her about his questions. So, after this meeting, Lisa and David started driving up to Valle de Anton from Panama City (a three hour drive) once a week to study the Bible with Nico.

Nico accepted Christ and so did his family. Then other people in the community began attending Bible study. The door had been opened for Lisa and David to do ministry in the mountains of Panama so they moved to el Valle de Anton. Their church started out as a bible study between two people and now has grown to a Sunday service, a Tuesday worship service, a Friday bible study, and a Saturday prayer night.  David and Lisa didn’t just find the Christians in town and start a group with them. People started coming to bible study, began to follow Jesus, and were discipled by this couple. David desires to teach people how to read the scriptures, so they can take ownership of their spiritual growth with the Lord. As a result, many of the members of the church are now the primary preachers and leaders. The church has grown to include Panamanians, Americans, and Kuna (an indigenous tribe) that attend the church. Thus, they have trilingual worship songs. The church also frequently visits and works with the church in the Embera indigenous village. “
